The 1993 release of "Jurassic Park" was certainly a dinosaur-sized event. From reportedly causing a rise in the number of students applying to paleontology programs to influencing the naming of the new NBA team -- the Toronto Raptors -- the Jurassic (but actually Cretaceous) excitement was pretty clear.
